⚙ Setu™ — Your Bridge Design Copilot

Design a bridge in weeks, not months.

Setu™ deploys six AI engineering agents that work together — under your engineer's supervision — to compress design cycles by 60–70%, with every decision traceable to a specific IRC or IS clause. All major Indian bridge types supported. Human-gated at every stage.

For every bridge your design office produces today, Setu™ compresses the cycle from 12–16 weeks to 3–5 weeks — freeing your senior engineers to supervise 3–4× more projects simultaneously. The question is not whether AI will enter bridge design. It is whether your organisation will lead that shift or follow it.

The Bridge Design Reality

Every month your design office runs without AI-assisted workflows, you are paying a senior-engineer premium for tasks a well-orchestrated agent team can handle in hours.

India's bridge design consultancies face a compounding crisis: senior engineers are retiring faster than juniors can absorb the interplay of 13+ IRC and IS codes. NHAI itself had to create an entirely new Design Division in 2023 because in-house bridge design capacity could not keep pace with the national highway programme. The gap is structural — and it is widening every quarter.

60-70%
of a bridge consultant’s design-office time is consumed by routine sizing, BOQ rework, and drawing iteration — not by the engineering judgement that wins tenders and prevents failures.

Executive Impact

What changes when Setu™ enters your design office.

A mid-size bridge consultancy producing 8–10 bridges per year stands to recover ₹40–60 lakhs annually in senior-engineer capacity alone.

Quantified outcomes from Setu™ agent runs across multiple bridge types — steel truss, RCC T-beam, PSC girder, plate girder, and box girder.

The Six Agents

A team of six AI engineering agents. Each with a defined role. Each human-gated.

Setu™ is not a single black-box "AI designer". It is six purpose-built agents collaborating around a single shared bridge model, mirroring the actual stages a real bridge design office runs. The same six agents work across all major Indian bridge types — steel truss, RCC T-beam, PSC I-girder, plate girder, PSC box girder, and RCC slab.

Each agent is powered by a large language model — orchestrated to collaborate in sequence, with your engineer gating every defined checkpoint. The agents handle the intelligence: reasoning through design alternatives, sizing members, verifying code compliance, and planning drawing layouts. But when it's time to produce the actual construction drawings — the sheets your contractor builds from — the Drawing Production Agent hands off to a deterministic rendering engine. No LLM touches the final drawings. AI reasons. Engine renders. Zero hallucination risk on tender-grade output.
Stage 2
Bridge Concept Advisor
Recommender, not decider
Reads your site investigation reports (geotech, hydrology, traffic, survey) and guides your engineer through six concept-level decisions: bridge type, span arrangement, foundation, carriageway, truss type, deck system — each with ranked alternatives and engineering rationale.
7 phases 7 human gates IRC:78 · IRC:6
Stage 3
Preliminary Design Agent
Computation executor
Takes the approved concept and sizes everything: truss geometry, members from the IS:808 catalogue, deck system, substructure components, foundation, and a line-item preliminary BOQ with cost estimate — at ±20% accuracy.
7 phases 2 human gates IS:808 · IS:456
Stage 4
Structural Analysis Agent
Computation executor with engineering judgement
Builds the FEM model, applies the full set of IRC:6-2017 load combinations, solves for member forces, runs deck grillage analysis, checks substructure earth pressures, and verifies foundation stability — producing the force envelopes that drive detailed design.
8 phases 2 human gates IRC:6-2017 · IS:1893
Stage 5
Member Design Agent
Detailed design executor with code compliance rigour
Designs every steel member, gusset connection, HSFG bolt group, deck slab, stringer, cross-beam, bracing, RCC substructure component, foundation, bearing and expansion joint — and runs the full code-compliance check.
10 phases 2 human gates IS:800 · IRC:24 · IRC:112
Stage 6a
Drawing Designer Agent
Design engineer upstream of the draftsman
Plans every drawing sheet before any code is written: sheet plan review, view layout, annotation strategy, 3D-to-2D notation reconciliation. Output is an approved notation guide the production agent then implements deterministically.
Multi-task Pre-production validation IS:696 conventions
Stage 6b
Drawing Production Agent
Deterministic rendering engine · AI-designed, engine-rendered
Takes the approved design package from the Drawing Designer Agent (Stage 6a) and renders it into a single self-contained multi-page HTML drawing file — joint details, deck, BBS schedules — using a deterministic code engine (not an LLM). Every coordinate, dimension, and annotation is computed precisely. The LLM agents do the thinking; this engine does the rendering. Compliant with Indian drafting standards used on public-works tenders.
8 phases (D0–D6) 3 human gates 23-point QA
Type-agnostic engine

How Setu™ is different

Seven commitments most AI design vendors won’t make.

Bridge design has life-safety implications. Setu™ starts from the constraints, not the demo.

No single black-box / Executor / Draftsman split
No single black-box AI deciding your bridge. Six purpose-built agents, each with a defined remit, each handing off explicit deliverables to the next.
Human-gated at every stage
Every agent pauses for explicit engineer approval at defined gates. No agent advances without your signature. Life-safety decisions are never auto-approved.
IRC- and IS-clause traceable
Every recommendation, every sizing decision, every design output references the specific IRC or IS clause it derives from. Audit-ready from the moment it is generated.
Every report versioned, every override audited
Reports are auto-versioned. Every engineer override is logged with rationale. Roll-backs are first-class. There is no "what changed and why" mystery six months later.
LLM-powered, but deterministic code-engine where it counts
The six agents are LLM-powered — they reason, recommend, analyse, and design. But tender-grade construction drawings are rendered by a deterministic code engine: coordinate-precise, dimension-accurate, clause-traceable. No LLM touches the sheets your contractor builds from. Zero hallucination risk where it matters most.
Single shared bridge model
All six agents read and write a single shared bridge-model. One source of truth. No data drift between concept, design, analysis and drawings.
Open-format, tool-agnostic outputs
Every output Setu™ produces — drawings, models, BOQs, schedules — exports to industry-standard formats (DXF, DWG, IFC, PDF, Excel). No vendor lock-in. Your engineers open Setu™ outputs in AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit, STAAD, or any BIM-compliant platform they already use.

Why Pragyametrics

An India-first AI partner that ships engineering products, not slide decks.

Setu™ is built by a team that has both engineered real-world infrastructure and shipped enterprise-grade software — an unusual combination, and the reason we can produce IRC-traceable design tools rather than generic LLM wrappers.

India-first by charter
Built around IRC and IS codes from day one. Not a global tool retrofitted to "support" India.
Productised, not consultancy
Setu™ is a product with a roadmap, a licence model and a release cadence — not a thinly-disguised services engagement.
Vendor-neutral by design
No lock-in to a particular FEM, CAD, or BIM stack. Setu™ sits beside your existing tools, not in place of them.
Infra + AI hybrid team
A founding team with hands-on bridge-engineering background fused with deep enterprise-software delivery experience.

Frequently asked

Questions bridge engineers actually ask.

Short, technical, honest. If yours isn’t here, ask us directly.

Does Setu™ replace my bridge engineer?
No. Setu™ is six recommender / executor / draftsman agents, every one of which pauses for explicit engineer approval at defined gates. The engineer remains the design authority on every life-safety decision. Setu™ accelerates the routine 60–70% — sizing, BOQ rework, drawing iteration — so the engineer can spend time on engineering judgement.
How do the six agents communicate?
All six agents read and write a single shared bridge model — one source of truth for the project. The Concept Advisor (Stage 2) produces decisions the Preliminary Design Agent (Stage 3) consumes; the Structural Analysis Agent (Stage 4) verifies those sizes; the Member Design Agent (Stage 5) finalises every component; and the two Drawing agents (Stages 6a/6b) produce the construction-grade sheets. Every handoff is explicit and audit-trailed.
Are the drawings Setu™ produces tender-ready or just preliminary?
The Drawing Production Agent renders a complete, multi-page drawing file complying with the Indian drafting standards used on public-works tenders. They go through a 23-point internal QA before any drawing leaves the agent, and your engineer still signs the final stamp — Setu™ does not bypass professional accountability.
What about data sovereignty? Is anything in the cloud?
Setu™ is on-premises deployable from day one. Project data, site reports and drawings stay within your environment. No mandatory cloud component, no telemetry on engineering content.
What happens when IRC or IS codes are revised?
Code-rules are encoded as versioned configuration, not buried in the agent logic. Setu™ receives code-revision updates as a standard release item, and each update carries its own change-log so your team can re-run impacted designs and see exactly what changed.
What does the pilot look like commercially?
A fixed-price, fixed-scope, fixed-timeline 4–6 week engagement on one of your actual bridges. We sign an NDA before any of your project data moves. Your engineer team gates every stage. If Setu™ cannot deliver to the agreed scope, you do not pay the final tranche — the commercial detail is laid out in Discovery. The Discovery Assessment fee is fully credited toward the Pilot. For organisations that proceed, there is zero sunk cost at any stage.
What can I see before signing anything?
In Discovery Assessment (one week, fee adjustable against Pilot): a structured fit assessment with preliminary ROI projection. In the Reference Walkthrough (under NDA, two weeks): all six agents running end-to-end on our 70-metre steel-truss reference project, including the preliminary BOQ and the full multi-page drawing file. The reference-architecture brief is shared under NDA on request.
What’s the typical payback period?
Most consultancies recover their Setu™ investment within 2–3 bridge projects. The design-cycle compression (from 12–16 weeks to 3–5 weeks) and the reduction in senior-engineer dependency create measurable ROI from the first project. The pilot is fixed-price, so your risk is capped from day one.
Why should we act now rather than wait for the technology to mature?
Bridge design AI is at an inflection point. Organisations that adopt now build institutional muscle — trained engineers, validated workflows, auditable reference projects — that late adopters will need 12–18 months to replicate. In a tendering environment where design-cycle speed is a competitive differentiator, that head start compounds. The technology is production-ready today; 6 complete reference bridges prove it. The question is not whether AI will enter bridge design, but whether your organisation will lead that shift.
Can I open Setu™ outputs in AutoCAD, Tekla, or Revit?
Yes. Every output Setu™ produces — drawings, structural models, BOQs, BBS schedules — exports to industry-standard formats including DXF, DWG, IFC, PDF, and Excel. Setu™ is designed to sit beside your existing CAD/BIM tools, not replace them. Your engineers open and extend Setu™ outputs in the tools they already know.
Which bridge types are supported — is it only steel truss?
No. Setu™ supports six bridge types today: steel truss (Pratt / Warren / K-truss), RCC T-beam / girder, PSC I-girder / Bulb-T, plate girder, PSC box girder (single / multi-cell), and RCC solid slab. The type-agnostic engine architecture means adding new bridge types is a template-addition exercise, not a re-engineering effort. Cable-stayed and segmental are on the roadmap.

The next bridge your team designs could take 3 weeks instead of 12.

One conversation. Then we walk your senior engineers through 6 completed reference bridges — your choice of type. NDA on day one.
