The Pragya™ model

Machine IQ, on one machining cell.

Machine IQ is the capability of an operation to sense its own state, understand its own patterns, and explain what it is telling you. Pragya™ is Pragyametrics' first product expression of that model — scoped to maintenance, and read-only to every machine.

01 · Sense
Read every machine. Write to none.
Controller alarms, telemetry, and operating history are read through a pluggable, read-only connection — the Data Intelligence layer, delivered by Pragya | Bridge. There is no write path, in any mode.
02 · Understand
Machine state meets plant knowledge
The machine profile is joined to your manuals, SOPs, and resolved tickets, so a signal carries its context — the Knowledge Intelligence layer, held on the plant edge by Pragya | Knowledge.
03 · Explain
Every answer shows its evidence
Alarm enrichment, likely-cause hypotheses, and past-case comparison, asked in English, Hindi, or Marathi — the Agent Intelligence layer. Each answer cites the manual page, SOP section, or ticket it came from.
04 · Share
One evidence base, three workspaces
Guided Incident, Live Monitoring, and Knowledge Exploration are role-shaped surfaces over the same machine profile, evidence base, and audit trail — a maintenance-scoped Shared Machine Workspace.

The fifth layer is the outcome, not a feature. Machine IQ is what these four produce — and Pragyametrics treats it as a claim to be measured, not asserted. Your Lighthouse Program establishes the baseline it is measured against. Acting on the evidence stays with your engineer: Pragya™ recommends, it never executes.

The Plant-Floor Reality

Maintenance is the silent profit leak on India's plant floors.

Senior engineers retire. Junior engineers join. Tribal knowledge walks out of the door. Your controllers, MES, CMMS and document systems each hold a fragment of the truth, and none of them holds the whole — so the shift engineer in front of a stopped machine assembles it by hand, every time. That is a context problem, not a data problem.

How Pragya™ is different

Six commitments most industrial AI vendors won't make.

Production environments are unforgiving. Pragya™ starts from the constraints, not the demo.

Read-only by design
No machine control. No parameter writes. No "advance the workflow" for the AI. Read-only is enforced at the architecture level — not a configuration that can be turned off.
Multi-controller, multi-protocol
Supported controllers — FANUC, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Heidenhain — and common industrial protocols including MTConnect, OPC UA, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP, plus a manual/CSV fallback for legacy machines that speak nothing. Additional adapters are scoped during assessment.
Citation-backed answers
Every recommendation links to the source: manual page, plant SOP section, or past resolved ticket. If we can't cite it, we don't say it.
LLM-agnostic
Pick your AI provider — cloud or fully-offline. Designed to support approved local or cloud model providers behind a stable application layer. You stay in control of the model, the cost, and the data.
Local-first, edge-first
Pragya™ runs inside the plant. The cloud is an optional outbound publisher, not a dependency. Designed for IT teams who say "no" to default-cloud architectures.
Audit-first security
Defence-in-depth security posture and a tamper-evident, access-controlled audit trail. Designed using controls informed by NIST SP 800-82 Rev. 3 and relevant IEC 62443 requirements — an architecture statement, not a certification claim.
Architecture at a glance

Five deployment layers that turn machine signals into Machine IQ — without replacing your MES, CMMS, or IIoT stack.

Pragya™ deploys without replacing your existing MES, CMMS, or IIoT systems. An executive overview and detailed reference architecture are available on request.

Federated Machine Intelligence is the operating model. Machine IQ is the outcome it is built to produce. Pragya™ is our first product expression of both — starting with one machining cell. Read the thinking behind it in our white paper, From Work IQ to Machine IQ →

Frequently asked

Questions plant managers actually ask.

Short, technical, honest. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

Will the AI ever write to my machine, change a parameter, or clear an alarm?
No. Read-only by design is enforced at the architecture level — not a configuration that can be turned off. The connectivity layer only exposes read operations: there is no write path, no parameter change, no alarm reset, no program edit. The AI advises; the engineer always acts. We’ll walk through the enforcement details in the discovery call.
What do you mean by "Machine IQ" — and is Pragya™ the whole thing?
Machine IQ is our term for an outcome, not a box you install: an operation that can sense its own state, understand its own patterns, anticipate what is coming, and explain what it is telling you. Enterprise search found what was already written down; workplace tools organised the desk; Machine IQ is about making the operation itself intelligent. Pragya™ is our first product expression of it — deliberately scoped to CNC maintenance, one machining cell at a time, and read-only to every machine. It delivers the sensing, context, and explanation layers; deciding and acting stay with your engineer. We treat Machine IQ as a claim to be measured against your own baseline in a Lighthouse Program, not one to assert on a web page. The full argument, including where the evidence is directional rather than proven, is in our white paper, From Work IQ to Machine IQ.
Which CNC controllers and protocols are supported out of the box?
FANUC (FOCAS-based controllers), Siemens, Mitsubishi and Heidenhain through standard industrial protocols — plus generic MTConnect, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and a manual/CSV fallback for legacy machines with no digital interface. Additional adapters are built against the same read-only contract; adapter effort is confirmed after controller, firmware, protocol, and access review.
Can Pragya™ run fully offline / air-gapped?
Yes. Pragya™ supports fully offline operation with local LLM providers and the cloud channel disabled. It then runs entirely on the plant edge with zero outbound calls — you keep the repeatable incident workflow, citation-backed knowledge over local manuals, alarm enrichment, and the full audit log.
Where does our maintenance data go?
Local-first by default. Telemetry, alarms, manuals, SOPs, and chat history stay in the on-prem database. An optional cloud publisher can push specific, configurable enriched events northbound — into your existing IIoT platform or your own backplane. Nothing leaves the plant unless you turn the publisher on.
How long is a typical Lighthouse Program, and what does it cost?
The Pragya™ Lighthouse Program runs 12 weeks against one machining cell: baseline, govern and connect (weeks 1–3); build and validate in shadow mode with no machine writes (weeks 4–9); measure and decide (weeks 10–12). The deliverable is a working Guided Incident capability plus Live Monitoring on real plant data, an engineer-validated impact assessment against your own baseline, and a documented scale, redesign, or stop decision. Pricing is fixed-price and depends on cell complexity, controller mix, and integration scope. Discovery begins with a fixed-scope Plant Readiness Assessment (typically Week 1) and an executive readiness brief—before any Lighthouse investment.
How is Pragya™ different from our existing IIoT platform / MES / CMMS?
Pragya™ is complementary, not competing. Most IIoT platforms operate at the cloud/fleet level. MES/CMMS systems handle work orders and production tracking. Pragya™ fills the gap they all leave: the plant-floor, controller-aware, citation-backed maintenance reasoning layer. It can publish enriched diagnostic events northbound into any of them via the optional cloud publisher.
Will it work alongside our existing FANUC service contract / OEM warranty?
Pragya™ is strictly read-only: it never writes parameters, clears alarms, or modifies programs. That read-only interface is designed to minimise control-system and warranty risk. Compatibility is confirmed against your applicable OEM agreement and site policy — we walk through the read-only enforcement details and the interfaces used as part of the discovery call.

Your best engineer's wisdom — available on every shift, at every machine.

A 30-minute conversation. No jargon, no slide deck — just an honest assessment of where AI-assisted intelligence can create measurable impact on your plant floor.
